Mead (Short 2018)

In a land ruled by giants, only Lucia the Favored daughter of Odin is left alive. Her journey takes her from a hidden refuge deep in the woods to the beaches of the End of the World. Phantasms seek to help her in her quest to re-discover who she is and her purpose in such a lonely world. From the Director, she learns to trust and stand on her own two feet. After weeks in his care, she sets off, determined despite her blindness to understand the calamity of the world and her condition. She discovers the Red Ranger in a break in the trees, injured by one of great Fenris’ enormous nails. With the healing powers of the mead kept in her rucksack, she revives him. In return, the Red Ranger shows Lucia her future. He and Lucia travel to the beach, where they begin a ritual for knowledge. Her efforts are rewarded with a psychedelic journey into total awareness of past, future and her own identity: not only is she Odin’s daughter, but she is also, in fact, Odin returned.
