Details:

This film recounts the history of the Black population of Canada. Through their first major introduction into Canada as slaves, Black Canadians have struggled to find a legitimate place in the land. This film tells their story through the time of slavery, their emancipation and the result of the nation becoming the promised land for escaping American slaves and the succeeding years of the struggle for social acceptance in various parts of the country.
